Accessibility Statement

EWTN is committed to making its digital properties accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. We aim to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA across our web properties, mobile applications, TV applications, and video platforms. Accessibility is not a one-time project but an ongoing commitment aligned with our mission to reach all people. We have already made meaningful progress on several platforms. Our TV applications enforce screen reader support as a release gate and have undergone color contrast studies whose improvements were extended to web properties. Live linear broadcast captioning has reached 86% coverage in the most recent year. A new mobile application is currently in active development with accessibility requirements being embedded from the outset.

We are also candid about remaining gaps. Our news websites have not yet undergone systematic accessibility review or remediation. Spanish-language programming currently lacks a captioning process. Video-on-demand content inherits broadcast captioning workflows, but gaps remain in postproduced and archival material. External accessibility audits of our digital properties are planned in the near future to provide independent assessment and prioritization.

This statement provides a transparent overview of our current posture, identifies known gaps, and outlines the actions we are taking now and in the coming months. A fuller compliance statement with detailed audit findings and an updated roadmap will be published following completion of the planned external audits.

1.1 Live Linear Broadcast

EWTN is exempt from captioning requirements on cable programming, however, EWTN does provide closed captioning and delivers nearly 90% caption rate in the most recent calendar year. Gaps remain in certain acquired programming and live events. Difficulties of automated systems to identify and correctly caption theological terms and concepts have prevented automated captioning.

1.2 VOD & On-Demand Content

Our video-on-demand platform inherits captioning policies applied to broadcast content. Post-produced and archival material continues to be reviewed.

Our TV applications represent one of our more mature accessibility areas.

2.1 Screen Reader Support

We maintain a firm product standard: no new features ship without verified screen reader support. This gate is enforced throughout the development lifecycle and at QA sign-off. Screen reader compatibility is tested on major CTV platforms prior to each release. This standard will be maintained and extended.

2.2 Color Contrast & Visual Accessibility

Color contrast studies were conducted for TV application UI against WCAG requirements. Design revisions were implemented, and the resulting improvements were carried over to our website properties. We will continue to apply and expand these standards.

2.3 Captioning

Captioning, when present, should appear on all EWTN video players.

3.1 Main Website

The main website, which also serves as a video-on-demand destination, has undergone external accessibility reviews. Many actionable items from those reviews have been completed. Remaining contrast-related items are targeted for completion by the end of 2026. A systematic, ongoing compliance program has not yet been established. External audits are planned in the near future and will inform a structured remediation and maintenance program.

3.2 News Website

The News websites are planned to be reviewed and external audits planned for the near future will include these properties.

A new mobile application is in active development for release soon. This presents an optimal opportunity to embed accessibility requirements from the outset rather than retrofitting later. Accessibility (WCAG 2.2 Level AA together with Apple Human Interface Guidelines and Android Accessibility standards) is being treated as a first-class requirement in sprint planning, design, development, and QA. Screen reader support, keyboard navigation, sufficient contrast, adequate touch target. External audits will validate implementation after initial release.

EWTN shall continue to:

• Integrate accessibility review into design, development, and content workflows
• Publish annual accessibility status reports
• Maintain and expand screen reader and contrast standards on TV applications
• Continuously improve accessibility

EWTN is already delivering meaningful accessibility on multiple platforms while identifying and addressing gaps. We are committed to a structured, organization-wide program with clear ownership, measurable targets, and regular public reporting. External audits planned for the near future will provide independent assessment and help us prioritize and accelerate further progress.
